I really love the whimsical and playfulness of painting food, with this series I have decided to paint ice creams. I want them to be bright, fun engaging and maybe a little nostalgic whilst also being mouth watering and inviting. I love the way oil paint can mimic the frozen and velvety texture of the ice cream and also the crispness of the cone. I feel that photorealistic style creates a sense of familiarity and comfort as if the ice cream could be plucked straight from a summer afternoon.
